The Tripartite Commission is composed of El Con Mall management, each of the 5 surrounding neighborhoods and the City of Tucson, who runs the meeting. Rebecca Ruopp from the City Manger's Office is in charge. The Commission meets every three months at the Ward 6 office.
Years ago, the City passed the Tripartite Ordinance dealing with El Con neighbors' concern about unregulated Big Boxes planned for the Mall
The agenda deals with the impact of El Con Mall on the surrounding neighborhoods, such as a crime, noise and light pollution, after hours deliveries, adverse traffic patterns and leasing status. A TPD officer reports on both Mall and neighborhood crime and safety issues but also TPD staffing capability.
The meetings are open to the public with neighborhoods representatives and El Con wall neighbors usually in attendance. Commission minutes are maintained by the City.
